How to vote on November 3, 2026.

I'm only on the ballot for District 3 voters. Here's how to check whether that's you, and how to make sure your ballot counts.

The basics

What's on the ballot.

Pacific Grove holds municipal elections each November of an even-numbered year. On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, District 3 elects one Councilmember to a four-year term. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Three candidates qualified for the District 3 seat. I was issued nomination papers on July 29 and qualified for the ballot on August 4, 2026.

Sept 15 Pacific Grove Mayor and City Council Candidate Forum, 6:00 p.m.

Early Oct Vote-by-mail ballots begin arriving. Every registered California voter is mailed one.

Oct 19 Last day to register online to vote in this election.

After Oct 19 You can still vote — use same-day conditional registration at a vote center.

Nov 3 Election Day. Polls open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by this date.

Registration and ballot-return deadlines are set by the state. If you are reading this close to a deadline, confirm it with Monterey County Elections — they are the authority, and this page is not.

Am I in District 3?

Check before you plan around it.

Pacific Grove elects council members by district. If you don't live in District 3, Andrew won't appear on your ballot — but your neighbors' votes still decide the seat, so passing this along matters.

The city publishes an interactive district map. Type in your address and it will tell you which council district you live in.

Ways to vote

Three options, all of them easy.

By mail

Simplest

Fill out the ballot that arrives in your mailbox, sign the envelope, and send it back. Sign the envelope — an unsigned envelope is the most common reason a ballot is rejected.

Drop box

No postage, no mail delay

There is a ballot drop box at Pacific Grove City Hall, 300 Forest Avenue. You can use that one or any other Monterey County drop box. Check the hours with the county before you go.

In person

Vote centers

You can vote at any Monterey County vote center, not only the one nearest you. The county publishes the current list of locations and hours, which is worth checking close to the date.

Ballots are counted at the Monterey County Elections Office, 1441 Schilling Place-North, Salinas. To check your registration or track your ballot, use Monterey County Elections or the Secretary of State's voter status lookup.
